Winery projects designed and built by Thoma Electric, Inc. have consisted of tank rooms with chilled jacketed tanks, conditioned barrel rooms, conditioned case/bottle storage prior to shipping, process equipment, bottling areas and tasting rooms. We typically design the power and integrate the controls with the owner’s vendor for the crush area where grapes are delivered, crushed, de-stemmed and prepared to be processed in tanks or barrels depending on the varietal. Of course, last but not least is everyone’s favorite part of the project – the public tasting rooms and caves. Visitors can relax and sample a glass of wine while choosing their favorite vintage or host an event for various fundraisers or weddings. Wineries merge the world of very heavy industrial processes with the elegance of a dinner party all in one sensual experience. Thoma’s project expertise includes but is not limited to power connections and controls to cranes and conveyor equipment, connection to auger motors, house motors and related process equipment, power and control for process chillers and boilers, air compressors for grape presses, glycol pumps, chiller pumps, boiler pumps and related equipment. Some recent winery projects include Tolosa, Bianchi, Rabbit Ridge, Dierberg, Justin, Niner and Halter Ranch.
